Pediatric Neurology in Office Practice.

A one-day pre-conference workshop intended to have an overview of the office management of common pediatric neurological disorders. A case-based interactive session is planned to simplify the approaches to common neurological symptoms in children like seizures, developmental delay, weakness, movement disorders, encephalopathy and developmental regression. An overview of the interpretation of common investigations like EEG, NCS, EMG, VEP, BERA, TMS/GCMS is planned. Separate sessions for neuroimaging and genetic investigations. A bird’s eye view of the treatment of epilepsy, anti-seizure medications, their indications, contraindications and adverse effects will be covered. The workshop will be interactive and practice-oriented. The target audience is practicing general pediatricians and pediatric postgraduates. Real-life cases will be discussed with an emphasis on common conditions.
