PEDICON 2024 logo release by Shri. P Rajeeve, Minister for Industries and Law, Kerala

The logo of 'Pedicon-2024'', 61st national conference of Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP) was released by Shri. P. Rajeeve, Minister of Law and Industries, Kerala at IMA House, Kaloor

While releasing the logo, Shri. P. Rajeeve affirmed that global warming and children's health, which has been chosen as the theme of PEDICON-2024, is highly relevant in this era. He also emphasized the significance of the theme for the host city, Kochi, which is under the threat of being drowned by the severity of global warming.

The function was presided over by Dr. Sachidananda Kammat, Chairman of the Organizing Committee. Dr. Narayanan, Secretary of the Organizing Committee detailed about the concepts conveyed by the PEDICON 2024 logo. The different colours of the logo denotes significant characteristics of childhood. The colours red, indigo, pink, orange, violet, blue, and green represents love, positivity, playful minds, cheerful energy, ambition , intelligence and growth respectively. The design also includes elements such as 'Children Seeking Stars' which stands for good life events and faith, 'Vallam Kali', a traditional boat race in Kerala and 'Kathakali' the state's classical dance performance.

Dr. O. Jose, IAP President (Elect), Dr. Rekha Zakarias, IAP Cochin Secretary, Dr. M.I Junaid Rahman, Organizing Treasurer and others addressed the gathering. Dr. Sachidananda Kammat shared his pride behind Kerala hosting the national conference of IAP after 26 years since Kochi PEDICON 1998. More than 8000 national and international delegates are expected to be part of this scientific conclave.
